Recognizing Our Speech Therapists

In honor of Speech Therapy Month, we wanted to take this opportunity to recognize our incredible Speech Therapists at Saybrook Landing.

First, we have Theresa "Terri" Fisher. Terri was born and raised in Euclid, Ohio. Terri has been a Speech Therapist for 25 years now, all in long-term care. When Terri first entered college, she had no idea what she wanted to do. While taking a Sign Language class, Terri was able to find her true calling and decided to become a Speech Therapist. Terri has been with the Saybrook Landing Family for 12 years now.

Terri is married and has two children. Her daughter turns 18 in June and graduates from High School this year, while her son is 14 years old and will be starting High School. In her spare time Terri enjoys watching her children at their sporting events. Her son plays football, basketball, and baseball and her daughter plays softball. Terri is looking forward to watching her daughter pitch in College Softball this year.

Next, we have Rose Vargo. Rose was born and raised in Mentor, Ohio. She has been with the Saybrook Landing Family for three years but has been a Speech Therapist for eight years, all in long-term care. When Rose first began college, she was an English Major on her way to becoming an English Teacher, however, from the very beginning, she could tell she was going to be changing majors. She had an opportunity to work with a Speech Therapist and was hooked from there. Although her original plan was to work with children, once she took a Therapy Tech job at a long-term care facility, she realized working with seniors was where she wanted to be.

Rose has a boyfriend named Nate and a son who is 11 weeks old. In her spare time, she likes to be outdoors on a boat or Jet-skis, traveling, or just spending time with family. Rose is very close to her family and even bought her grandparents' home that was built in 1955, where her mother was raised, and where she plans on raising her son.
