December Employee of the Month
December 19, 2024
Saybrook Landing would like to introduce December's Employee of the Month, Rosalinda Field, LPN. Rosa is a 1997 graduate of Pymatuning Valley High School. She studied Nursing at Knoedler and received her LPN license in 1998. She is a single mother to two children, a daughter named Kaycee and a son named Caden. She also has two boy cats named Ronin and Archie.
When asked what sparked her interest in healthcare, she stated,
"When I was five years old, I had to go to the hospital and the nurses were really amazing when I was scared. And I got to sit with them at night at the nurse's station, color, and just hang out. My mother was also in the medical field and always gave her time to people even when she wasn't on the clock. It just made sense to me too since I enjoy helping people."
We continued talking about her career and how that shifted after the pandemic. She expressed,
"I have learned to adapt over the years as things have changed. These days, new nurses face more challenges than when I became a nurse. Nursing requires so much of you to be flexible and evolve not just over the years, but sometimes by the minute or hour. You need to be open to learning and accepting that you're going to have bad days as well and you have to learn to let go of what is out of your control. Having great co-workers and working together helps immensely. I could not do it alone."
On the horizon, Rosa envisions continuing her education and becoming a Registered Nurse. Her peers admire her ability to take the reins, lead with confidence, and organize tasks efficiently. Rosa’s calm, composed demeanor in high-pressure situations makes her an exceptional leader.
Congratulations, Rosa, on this well-deserved recognition!
