Meet Saybrook Landing's Social Workers
March 28, 2024
Saybrook Landing extends warm wishes to our Social Worker and Social Service Designee for National Social Worker Month!
John's journey began when he relocated to Ashtabula, Ohio, from Puerto Rico at the age of eight, inspired by his uncle who served as a sheriff in the area. Graduating from Lakeside High School in 2008, John delved into healthcare, influenced by his family's background in the field. With his grandmother as a nurse and his mother in Housekeeping and Laundry, John's familiarity with long-term care runs deep.
Reflecting on his career, John expressed, "I've always had a knack for helping others, especially the elderly. It's a rewarding job." Since joining healthcare in 2008, John has held various roles, from STNA to scheduler, before assuming his current position as SSD.
Alongside John is Karen, our Licensed Social Worker with two decades of experience. Introduced to long-term care by a nurse friend, Karen embraced the opportunity to be a voice for those in need. Colleagues commend her for her empathetic approach and unwavering dedication to making a positive impact.
Happy National Social Worker Month to Karen and John!
