Resident Spotlight: Kurt

Introducing Kurt Nerad, our remarkable resident in the spotlight! Born and raised in Ashtabula, Ohio, Kurt's journey is rich with a love for music and a zest for life. Growing up as an only child, he attended Harbor High School before pursuing his passion for TV production at the Ashtabula County Vocational School, graduating in 1975.



Throughout his life, Kurt held various jobs while nurturing his musical talents. Despite starting with drums in bands like "East Wind" and "Echos," he later ventured into guitar playing, a skill he taught himself. His enduring love for music, sparked by childhood encounters with The Beatles, remains steadfast to this day.

In 1996, Kurt met his wife, Jean, at ACMC, and their love story unfolded in the charming backdrop of their shared home in a trailer park, culminating in marriage in 1998. Alongside his passion for music, Kurt also enjoys poetry and drawing, but his heart belongs to music, which he regards as his first and last love.

Now residing at Saybrook Landing, Kurt continues to brighten our days with his musical performances on the guitar. Engaging in a variety of activities, from games to outings, Kurt also serves as our Resident Council Vice President, contributing actively to our community. With Jean by his side, Kurt's journey at Saybrook Landing is filled with warmth, friendship, and the enduring joy of music.
