Northeast Ohio Nursing Home Ranked in Top 30 in U.S.

ASHTABULA, OH - A national data provider has identified Saybrook Landing Health and Rehabilitation, in Saybrook Township, as one of the best nursing homes in the United States. NursingHomeDatabase.com releases a Best Nursing Homes list monthly, and identified Saybrook Landing as among the top in the nation in its most recent publication.

"I am extremely proud of my team and this accomplishment," said Kelly Johnson, Regional Administrator at Foundations Health Solutions, the company that operates Saybrook Landing. Johnson has direct involvement at Saybrook Landing on a daily basis, and knows what a special team it takes to earn this accomplishment.



"We have a really dedicated team. Many of these people have been here for years," Johnson said. "They care so much about our residents, and its nice to see that recognized."

Johnson also cited support from Foundations Health as another reason the facility has had the continued success it takes to earn a top spot on this prestigious list.

"Anytime the facility needs something that we can't handle on our own, we can turn to our local ownership and get access to a ton of resources," Johnson said. "It helps have a locally owned corporate office that is more focused on people than profits."

Saybrook Landing, which features all private rooms and private showers, has been a fixture in the Saybrook Township community for more than a decade. Throughout the years, the facility has earned deficiency-free surveys from the Ohio Department of Health and 5-star ratings from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

NursingHomeDatabase.com, the data provider that published the Best Nursing Homes list, states on its website that it is not affiliated with any of the nursing homes on which it reports. The data provider gathers its industry statistics from a variety of sources, but it primarily compiles information from CMS.

"CMS produces an enormous amount of data on skilled nursing facilities and updates the information monthly," NursingHomeDatabase.com says on its website. "But, to be able to use the data, you have to have servers available and data storage and a good understanding of how databases work to be able to make sense of the data. You also need to update the data monthly and keep everything so that you can look for trends."
